Say “good take.” It marks itself.
Flowphonic watches the live transcript while you record. A handful of spoken English phrases — “good take,” “cut,” “circle this” — drop a timestamped marker at the start of the line you said them in. Review starts already organized.
Record
Lossless mode records 48 kHz WAV — 16-bit, or 32-bit float if switched on — in mono or stereo, with an optional −12 dB safety track (no limiter, doubles storage) as a spare if the main take runs hot. Other tiers save smaller AAC files.
Mark
Say “good take” or “cut” mid-recording, or tap MARK. Each marker is timestamped and labeled, and any can be renamed. Voice triggers are English and only work while the live transcript is running.
Review & trim
Scrub with the jog dial, loop an in/out range, skip silence automatically, clean up hiss — all without touching the original file.
Export
Marker files for Premiere (XML), Resolve (EDL), and Final Cut (FCPXML) carry timecodes, titles, and quotes — no audio. Audio, SRT transcript, and safety track can go in the same share.
The dial, right here.
This is a demo of the app's transport control — drag the dial in a circle, or drag along the waveform below. In the app they scrub your actual recording; here, it's just for feel.

DND Quiet during the take
Optional: turn it on in Settings, then grant Do Not Disturb access once in Android's system settings. While you record, Flowphonic sets Priority only, then restores your previous setting when you stop — so most chimes stay out of a take you can't re-shoot.
LIBRARY Titles, markers and transcripts, encrypted
Your titles, markers and transcripts are encrypted at rest on your phone. Audio is saved as ordinary WAV or M4A files in the app's private storage (a Lossless WAV also carries its scene, take, start time and project name in its own metadata), and exports are plain files. Your recordings never go to a Flowphonic server, so there's no central store of them to breach. (The app does a quick purchase check with Google Play each time it opens.)
ASR Transcription, on-device first
On Android 13+ with a language model installed, speech-to-text runs on your phone. Live transcription can use your phone's online speech service instead if the On-device speech engine setting is off, there's no model for your language, or Android is older than 13 — and your audio never goes to a Flowphonic server. Saved takes are always on-device, and need Android 13+ and the model.
EDIT Fix a transcript by hand
Recognizers mishear things. Tap any line of a transcript to correct it directly — the same way you'd rename a marker.
